The only thing I recommend doing is to change the settings for your Wireless device. In most of the cases, it's enough to simply replace the broadcasting channel. Log into the Administration area and access the Wireless settings. From there, go to Basic view and change the channel to 11,13,6,1. You can pick any of these. Additionally, change the encryption mode to TKIP+AES or TKIP or AES. Then, configure the channel power output to 100 % and the mode from 20/40 to 20 then to 40 or AUTO, based on your settings. Reboot it and then test the connectivity.
Secondly, replace the router with something more powerful because if the devices in your home depend very much on the bandwidth, then you will have problems. Try using one with 300 Mbps N and 1 Gbps connection on LAN.
You can't download Aventail Connect. You need to buy it from SonicWALL, the developer of the product. Go to How to Buy page and fill up the required fields. You will be contacted by a Dell sales agent via email.

I didn't see any procedure related to updates, therefore I can say that you have the possibility to update the software in two ways:
Through the Help button in the main window. Go to Help > Check for Updates. Most applications have this function that you can use.
Download a new version and applying the update over the already installed version.
